About the event
The Friends of the Kettle Moraine State Forest - Southern Unit, also known as the Kettle Moraine Natural History Association, will hold its annual meeting at 10AM on Saturday March 7, 2026 at the Kettle Moraine State Forest-Southern Unit Headquarters. The program is open to all members and guests.
A short business meeting will follow the educational presentation. We will report on our financial status, our accomplishments, and our future plans.
Zach Kron, a Senior Biologist with the Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission (SEWRPC), presents "Natural Areas of SE Wisconsin--The best; how many lost; newly identified areas; any new critical species." Kron will discuss updates to Planning Report No. 42, which outlines the Regional Natural Areas and Critical Species Habitat Protection and Management Plan for Southeastern Wisconsin. This plan identifies and recommends protection for significant natural areas, including wetlands, woodlands, and critical species habitats within the region.
